Preimplantation Genetic Testing
Embryo Creation:
Step 1: Ovarian stimulation and egg retrieval.
Step 2: Fertilization of the recovered eggs with sperm to make the embryos in embryos improvement.
Embryo Development:
Step 3: Culture embryos to the blastocyst stage (the point at which the embryo has developed sufficiently for biopsy).
Genetic Testing:
Step 4: Perform a biopsy on the blastocyst to obtain a sample of cells for genetic testing. (Note: In some cases, a biopsy of polar bodies may be used instead, though this is less common.)
Step 5: Analyze the genetic material from the biopsy to assess for specific genetic conditions or abnormalities.
Embryo Selection:
Step 6: Review the results of the genetic testing to identify embryos that are genetically normal or have specific desired traits.
Embryo Transfer:
Step 7: Select embryos for transfer based on genetic testing results.
Step 8: Transfer the selected embryos into the uterus. This can be done with fresh embryos or thawed embryos if they were previously frozen.
Post-Transfer Monitoring:
Step 9: Screen the uterine environment and developing life implantation to survey the victory of the exchange and affirm pregnancy.
