What Is Blastocyst

In IVF, a blastocyst is a specific stage of embryo development that occurs approximately 5 days after fertilization. At this stage, the embryo has developed from a zygote into a more complex structure with a fluid-filled cavity and distinct layers of cells.

The blastocyst consists of two main parts

1. Trophoblast: The external layer of cells that will in the long run frame the placenta and bolster structures for the creating baby.
